Graffiti 2's Community Outreach Activities and Events create opportunities for the organization to make meaningful connections with individuals who are not regularly enrolled in programs.
Graffiti 2’s regularly scheduled outreach activities include the following:
Graffiti 2’s coffee shop provides free coffee, a breakfast snack, and conversation at least once a week. Come join us Tuesdays from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Thursday Nights Together (TNT) is a weekly community meal and Bible Study. Come join us Thursdays at 6:30 PM.
Graffiti 2’s professional therapy dog named Jocko provides enrichment and support to local elementary schools. Accompanied by his handler, G2’s Children’s Director, together they provide social-emotional support and reading therapy to children.
Graffiti 2 hosts the following outreach events annually:
Graffiti 2 coordinates with volunteers from across the country to provide four consecutive, week-long baseball, basketball, football, soccer, cheerleading, tennis or recreation camps to over fifty 1st-8th grade students in the Mott Haven community.
Graffiti 2 partners with ASPIRA to provide summer jobs through the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD). Youth accepted to the program join together with G2’s staff and volunteers to provide stellar summer sports and enrichment activities for children and teens in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Summer Youth benefit not only from having a minimum-wage job, but also receive training, consistent supervision and feedback, and the pleasure that comes from working with others to make a positive difference in their community.
Graffiti 2 hosts a basketball tournament for adults in our community. Truly an event that brings the whole neighborhood together, the day begins with an encouraging word from a special speaker, continues with competitive play and delicious food, and ends with trophies (and bragging rights) for the champions and runners-up.
Graffiti 2’s Back-to-School Outreach seeks to bless both students and teachers by providing a fun kick-off to the school year that involves free food, activities, and prayer.
Make an investment into both the present and future work of Graffiti 2 Ministries through intentional and planned giving.
