Last week I was blessed to be the speaker for Deep Impact, Avery County, North Carolina. Deep Impact is a week long mission endeavor in which the North Carolina Baptist Men mobilize youth to make an impact in a community by meeting the tangible needs. Each day, student groups participated in mission projects which included visiting nursing homes, hosting sports camps, assisting in daycare facilities, constructing ramps for individuals with limited mobility, and participating in a variety of servant evangelism projects. The theme for the week was “The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus.”
Returning home, I am excited for the start of Graffiti 2’s eighth summer. This Thursday, 16 teens and 4 adults from G2 will be heading on a mission trip to Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, AL. Our teens will be mentoring students and hosting Bible studies.
On Sunday, 7 of our 4th and 5th grade students are heading to Centri-Kid in Virginia.
Once we all return from these trips, G2 summer activities begin. As usual, G2 will be busy with a variety of activities for students and teens–including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, tennis, football, city tours, photography, cooking and Vacation Bible School.
Over the course of this summer, Graffiti 2 is taking a big next step. We are relocating our facility to a building on Beekman Avenue. This building is providing a much needed increase in space and is allowing for continued growth of our ministry and church.
Please pray for all that is happening. Pray specifically for a burden God has placed on my heart–that these activities will draw people towards God and the results will not be shown by merely salvation decisions, but the making of disciples. Pray for G2 Church as we work to make disciples that make disciples.
