Mission Chicago

Every summer for the past 5 years, Graffiti 2 has taken a group of teenagers on a summer trip. These trips began with a purpose of allowing these students to experience life outside the hustle and bustle of the big city. As our ministry has grown our students have experienced growth as well, spiritually and missionally. Every Monday our students have a mission study that introduces them to missionaries and the work they do. This study gives them insight into different people groups and the creative ways our Missionaries are using the gospel to reach people for Christ. It is through the gospel that they are learning the command that our Lord gives each of us in Matthew 22:37-39.

“He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Our mission trip this year will be to Chicago, IL working with FBC Wheaton and Mosaic Church. These two ministries are working to reach the people at their doorsteps. Our students will be assisting these two ministries in their ongoing work to reach their communities with the gospel. Both ministries serve different people groups as well as different areas of Chicago. This trip will also give us a chance to work with a fellow church plant that offers some of the same community ministries that we offer here in the Bronx. What a great opportunity for a church plant to partner with another church plant in accomplishing the great commission.!

Pray for our Staff and the GSALT (pictured above) that will be taking this trip in June. Pray that God will use these young people to share the love of Christ as they serve. Pray that they will invest in others like so many of you have invested in them. Pray that God will continue to prepare them for their task ahead.
