9 Summers of Ministry in the Bronx

posted in: Featured 0

Graffiti 2 just completed its 9th summer of ministry in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx. Here are a few of the things that kept us busy (and blessed!).

SUMMER THEME

SUMMER TOTS
A morning program for 4 and 5 year olds.

SUMMER SPORTS
A morning sports camp for 100 children in the 1st-8th grade. Children received instruction in football, baseball, tennis, basketball and cheerleading. Each day children participated in large group and small group Bible studies. Once a week, children read from the Action Bible.

SUMMER KIDS
An afternoon program for 1st-5th graders which included a week-long VBS and a movie making curriculum. Visit our Vimeo page by clicking here (vimeo.com/graffiti2ministries) to check out 4 movies made by our children.

G.S.A.L.T. and SUMMER INTERNS
G.S.A.L.T. are 6th-12th grade youth who volunteer to assist with Graffiti 2’s summer programs. They also participate in an afternoon program which included Bible study and fun activities. Summer Interns are young adults over the age of 18 who were employed with Graffiti 2 through a city-program called “Summer Youth.” Each Monday they participated in a study based around Lecrae’s “Man-Up” video.

SUMMER MOMS
Summer Moms was created for the moms who dropped their children off each morning at our programs. These moms gathered each Thursday morning for fellowship and devotion.

TNT
TNT (Thursday Nights Together) continued through the summer. Approximately 100 people joined us each Thursday for dinner followed by Bible study.
